Are We Still Here?

A challenging set of questions for Christians about standing firm in faith, resisting temptation, obeying God, and staying committed to His assignment.

Are We Still Here?

I have some questions for all Christians, formed on the foundation of our behaviors and responses to the happenings on this earth. Are there still Christians who can stand like the three Hebrew boys when a whole nation is bowing down? They were threatened with a burning furnace heated seven times, yet they stood.

Are there still Christians who can resist temptation even with a wonderful promotion in view, just like Joseph did with Potiphar's wife? He resisted until he fled. Are there still people who can say no to a bribe no matter how pleasant it seems? Are there still Christians ready to obey God no matter the odds, like Abraham who left his father's house and was willing to offer Isaac?

Are there still Christians committed to the assignment God has given them? Think of Jesus who said 'My food is to do the will of Him that sent me and to finish His work.' Paul said 'Woe unto me if I preach not the gospel.' Peter answered the judges 'Are we to obey man rather than God?' Daniel was so committed that he stood before kings.

All these questions are to set you on your feet. It is time to get up and be who He wants you to be, not who you want to be. He wants soldiers, so step out of that baby stage and grow. Are there still real Christians reflecting the life of Christ wherever they find themselves? If there are, the question is: are you part of them?
