The AI Shock

The AI shock was one of the best blessings I've received.

Few months ago, I felt comfortable. It wasn't until much recently I realized that comfort could be a really devastating enemy.

So quick history, I started out with Java during the Java servlet era and because of a business decision, I had to move to NodeJS and React. However, over the years, I noticed how I could take on frontend projects with so much ease and I could build up any interface no matter how complicated the design looked. This depth of ease gave me so much confidence in my frontend ability that I decided to pivot my career towards it and give less attention to backend projects.

I was comfortable and avoided what felt a bit difficult — until AI Agents came into the market.

That was the career defining moment for me. I realized how lazy I had become in my learning journey, how shallow my software engineering depths were and how much the world had moved while I was enjoying the repetitive process of building applications I was 100% comfortable with.

Well, that is different now because I have realized that the most successful people on this planet do the things that other people find difficult. The real wealth exists in doing the hard things of life. This certification is a testament to my resolution. I am going to push myself until success is the default achievement. No longer would I be caught unaware by a technological advancement. Instead, I intend to be at the forefront of each advancement.

Thank you to Audinate for this Level 2 course on Dante (a leading digital networking technology that sends uncompressed, multi-channel audio and video over standard Ethernet networks). I am going for Level 3 too.

I need this certification in my alternate career field as a media engineer and it also helped deepen my understanding on Networking, Broadcast and Internet protocols which better position me for excellence in my core field of software engineering and cloud computing.

So my admonition to you, don’t settle.

Don’t get comfortable and believe the world would remain the same way you met it.

Instead, go deeper.

Challenge yourself to be better and stretch until the change you pursue proceeds from you.

Cheers.
